Unleashing The Engine Within

I know its been a while since I’ve posted to my blog and you have my apology for neglecting you for so long. In this post I’m going to address some obstacles that may be holding you back from your break through, my hope is that you take something from this post and build on it.

When you decided to go into business for yourself I’m sure it wasn’t an easy decision and for some a very difficult one. You had to endure all the naysayers, negative people, and in some cases self-inflected doubt. If you had a support system in place and you didn’t have to endure any of the before mentioned, kudos to you. Not all are so lucky especially if you are in direct sales or network marketing.

But have you ever stopped and wondered why so many people are negative when it comes to the network marketing industry? Why so many of your family and friends are closed to your opportunity? Why it’s important for you to cut some of them loose? Through no fault of their own they have been programed that way. Truth be told, we all have at one time or another.

For that reason alone it’s very important for you to invest in yourself through personal development. We must all keep in mind that 1. We are who we hang around. 2. We are what we eat. and 3. We are what we think about.

We are who we hang around: Have you ever heard the phrase birds of a feather flock together? Sure you have, but have you ever dug into the meaning? If you surround yourself with negative thinkers, guess what you will become? A negative thinker! You will began to take in all the negativity until it is all that you think about and it becomes you. That’s why it’s very important to identify those in your circle who are not there to wish you well as you embark on your new found journey of positivity. Yes this will require you to cut some friends and maybe even some family members loose, or keep them at an arms distance. You are not doing this out of spite, but necessity if you plan on being successful. You will understand it more as we go through points 2 and 3. A wise man once said,”If you are the smartest person in your circle, it’s time to find a new circle.”

We are what we eat: We’ve all heard the saying we are what we eat, but not many understand that can be taken both physically and more so mentally. Proverbs states as a man thinketh in his heart so is he. For this reason alone, we should separate ourselves from negative people because they are detrimental to our growth. Sort of like weeds, a gardener pulls up all the weeds to keep them from choking off the growth of their product. In life the weeds are everything and everybody negative around you,the product is your mind. For it’s the mind that’s being talked about in that proverb as a heart. We need to began to partake in everything positive, let this be what you began to feed your mind. Invest in as much personal development as you can stand, then get more. A wise man once said to work harder on yourself than you do on your job. This is where so many of us fail, we don’t put in the work to replace all that stinking thinking. The proverb says you are what you think about. So it’s very important to change what you think about and that starts with what we allow to enter our minds in other words what we feed our brains.

We are what we think about: As you can pretty much gather from the before mentioned proverb, we literally are what we think about. That’s the reason it’s very important for us to guard our thoughts and be mindful of what we feed our minds. You see our minds are very powerful, they consist of a very powerful entity called a subconscious. The interesting thing about our subconscious mind is that it has no boundaries or limitations, it’s what we feed into it that create the false boundaries and or limitations. This was taught to us at a very early age in a childhood story that many of us have allowed life and other things we’ve feed into our minds to block out this small but powerful story about the subconscious. The story I’m referring to is the story about the little engine that could. We all know how that story go but I have a few things to point out about that engine(you).

1.The engine is small but powerful
2.The engine is built for success
3.The engine can overcome any obstacle put in its way.

We all know how the story starts, the engine is roaring down the tracks called life without a care in the world, occasionally you may hear the whistle blow, but for the most part it’s smooth sailing. Now don’t that sound like us? We go through life sailing on through, every now and then we voice our opinion but for the most part its smooth sailing. As the story goes the engine sees an obstacle up ahead, and that obstacle is a big hill. At first the engine don’t know what to make of that hill, all he knows is THAT’S A BIG HILL. This is a crucial part in this story, the outcome will depend on who that engine surrounded himself with, what he’s been feeding his subconscious, and what that engine thinks.

Now let’s just say you’re that engine and the hill is your new business venture. You just got started and you are roaring down the tracks of life and the time comes for you to share your opportunity with family and friends. These are the people who you feel should support you, these are the people that knows you the most, and this is your circle of influence. But have you ever stopped and wondered if they have your best interest at heart? While you are roaring down the tracks of life pulling a heavy load known as your past, all your failed attempts at starting your own business, all your shortcomings, the best advice your circle gives you is to shut it down! Who do you think you are? What makes you think this time will be different? Shut it down! Why don’t you get a real job? Those things don’t ever work. Shut it down! This all coming from your circle of influence, now can’t you see why it’s important to surround yourself with positivity as soon as possible?

The engine in our story faced some of the same naysayers, you can’t make it over that hill….you just a lil old engine packing that heavy load….shut it down. You can’t make it…..shut it down. And sure enough as the story goes, doubt set in and a shut down was evident. That’s not how the story ended though, that engine began to work on himself. He began to invest in personal development. He started cutting loose those naysayers. One day he came across that proverb that told him as a man thinketh in his heart so is he. All the positivity he planted in his heart began to take root, he understood that he was small but powerful, built for success, and could overcome any obstacle in his way. All of a sudden his thoughts changed. As the story goes it started with a simple “I think I can”. Before he knew it, there were a lot of “I think I can”, he fired up them turbo engines and approached that hill. More “I Think I can” followed increasing to a rapid pace as he sped up. I’m led to believe that sometime in between approaching that hill his chant changed to “I know I can”, and before he knew it he was over that hill.

You see that engine learned an important lesson that day, you can do anything as long as you think you can. Proverbs 23:7 tells us “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he”. So I’m telling you today, no matter what business you are in. Whatever level you want to achieve in that business: You can do it, Yes you can , You can do it , Yes you can , Because its already done!

To Your Success,
